The velour looking piece behind the seats would need to go though.

I’ve owned a Fleetwood Brougham and have auto body experience....this is a very n ice looking wet noodle for the road. That chop at the already barely useful a-pillar gives me chills.

I’m sure they went to great pains to reinforce the structure right?? On second thought might want to tell the GPS to avoid railroad tracks.

The lack of a convertible top says to me that this was intended as one last fun fling before the car was sent to the junkyard, but now the guy is selling it, for some reason.

I think this may be a case of attempting to create a custom but running out of money, ability, or both. I’d need to see the body in person to know for sure though.
That said I still look fondly back at the summer where we cut the roof off a buddies ruined Astro van and cruised in the 8 seat convertible all summer before it finally went to a junkyard where it belonged.

That material behind the seat looks to be marine bi mini top fabric.
I’m curious what the lights in the trunk say. I think the first word is “p*ssy”.

The ‘76 was better.
Do you subscribe to Motor Trend On Demand? There’s an episode of Roadkill where they take (I think it’s a) ‘84 and do a Cummins swap.

I'm almost sure you're correct. Can’t figure out the second word. Probably afraid to know.

Yep, I’ve seen it and liked the landau idea from it.
The 76 is quite nice.

I’m sure you’re right on the first word. The second I can’t make out at all.

No apparent top, likely not reinforced and probably collapse like a pop can in a 10 mph impact, windshield pillar looks disproportionately tall and has that weird notch where the roof was - three big strikes. Sad, as it looks like it might have been a decent car before.
There was a period aftermarket conversion on these DeVilles, called “LeCabriolet” - I suspect it was at least somewhat better engineered:
There were also Eldorado conversions which aren’t awful:

Car like this requires proper context. If you go in expecting flex and no handling , then you’ll enjoy it...
